Week of October 14th, 2019

Reminders: 

1). School is closed on Monday, October 14th-Columbus Day.

2). TerraNova exams begin on Tuesday, October 15th.

3). The chocolate sale begins on Tuesday, October 15th.

4). There will be a $2.00 Dress Down Day on Wednesday, October 16th, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. 

 

5th Grade

For the days that we will meet, the students will be examining the lives of the Ancient Indians.  They will be describing the type of settlements these ancient peoples lived in.  Lastly, they will be exploring the impact that technology and agriculture had on the Indians.

*There will be no written homework for the week due to the TerraNova exams.

6th Grade

 For the days that we will meet, the class will be focusing on the Agricultural Revolution.  They will be discussing how farming changed people‚Äôs lives and examining what life was like during  the Neolithic Age.  Lastly, the students will be exploring the characteristic of these early civilizations.

*There will be no written homework for the week due to the TerraNova exams.

7th Grade

For the days that we will meet, the students will be working their cartoons of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

10/17: Rough draft of your cartoon is due tomorrow! Make sure that you have completed the captions that go along with each illustration!

8th

For the days that we will meet, the students will continue their study of the Civil War.  They will be analyzing what daily life was like for civilians and soldiers during the war.  They will be also be discussing the causes and effects of the Emancipation Proclamation, and how African Americans participated in the war.  Lastly, the class will be discussing the opposition President Lincoln faced during  this point of the Civil War. 

10/16:  Journal Topic Sheet was handed out in class today.  Two completed and typed journal topics are due on Tuesday, October 22th.  Remember to take your time on this assignment because it will be collected and graded!

10/18: Journal Topics are due typed on Tuesday.

Religion

For the days that we will meet, the class will be focussing on the stories of creation, and that God is the source of all life. The students will be working in groups to create skits on the First Story of Creation.
