Week of May 28th, 2018

Reminders:

1). Wednesday, May 30th, will be $2 NUT Day to raise money for a new statue of the Blessed Mother.

5th Grade

  This week the students will be discussing the factors that led to the American Revolution.  They will be analyzing the causes and effects of the Stamp Act and the Boston Massacre.  They will be exploring the development of representative government in the United States.  The class will also be identifying roles women played in the Revolution. Lastly, the class will be identifying the causes and effects of the Boston Tea Party, the Intolerable Acts, and the Battles at Lexington and Concord.

5/28: STUDY! Jeopardy- Tomorrow and Test- Wednesday: “Colonists Speak Out” on pages 280-285.  20 Jeopardy questions are due on Tuesday.

5/29: STUDY! Jeopardy questions are due tomorrow!

5/30: The class will be playing Jeopardy today.

5/31:The class will be taking a test on “Colonists Speak Out”.

6/1: Finish the worksheet on “The Road to War” (pages 288-292).

 

6th Grade

  Over the next few weeks the students will be reviewing for the final by creating a board game on all of the topics we studied in Social Studies Class this year.  They will be creating questions based on information from the final review sheet.  They will be working with partners, and they will be following a detailed rubric.

 

7th Grade

  This week the students will be exploring the earliest formal structure of the United States government as expressed in the Articles of Confederation. They will also be analyzing strengths and weaknesses of this document.  Lastly, the class will be exploring the United States Constitution and the branches of government.

5/29: Worksheet Packet: “The United States Constitution”- Read, highlight, take notes and answer the Quick Review questions for pages 74-80.

8th Grade

Religion
