Week of March 30th-April 3rd

Reminders:

*Specific assignments will be posted daily on Google Classroom at 8:00 A.M. Carefully read the instructions each day; many of you are asking questions that have been specifically outlined in the instructions; take your time, and read everything thoroughly. 

 

Grade 5-This week, the students will be handing in their essays based on from Soldiers, Sleds, and Sam; next, they will be identifying vocabulary words from the biography, “Satchel Paige” by Lisa Cline-Ransome which can be found in their Reading Street reader.  They will be developing riddles for each word and making a prediction for the story using the vocabulary words. They will be reading the story and engaging in various writing activities, too. All assignments will be posted on Google Classroom each day; we will be having a Zoom meeting on Thursday, April 2nd, at 12:00 P.M. I will be streaming a link; please look out for it. 

 

Grade 6- This week, the students will be handing in their creative stories based on Unit 5 vocabulary words; next, they will be identifying vocabulary words from the realistic fiction story, “Mother Fletcher’s Gift” by Walter Dean Myers which can be found in their Reading Street reader.  They will be developing riddles for each word and making a prediction for the story using the vocabulary words. They will be reading the story and engaging in various writing activities, too. All assignments will be posted on Google Classroom each day; we will be having a Zoom meeting on Thursday, April 2nd, at 12:30 P.M. I will be streaming a link; please look out for it. 

 

Grade 7- This week, the students will be handing in their essays based on Unit 5 vocabulary words; next, they will be identifying vocabulary words from the science fiction story, “All Summer In A Day” by Ray Bradbury. This can be found in their Pearson Common Core Literature reader.  They will be developing riddles for each word and making a prediction for the story using the vocabulary words. They will be reading the story and engaging in various writing activities, too. All assignments will be posted on Google Classroom each day; we will be having a Zoom meeting on Thursday, April 2nd, at 1:00 P.M. I will be streaming a link; please look out for it. 

Religion- Mrs. Limitone is going to be having you complete a slide show based on the Passion of the Christ; here is her Google Classroom code: swtji4x.

Grade 8- This week, the students will be reading the Drama: “The Diary of Anne Frank” by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hacket. This play is an adaptation of Anne Frank’s diary, which she wrote from June 1942 to July 1944. The students will be developing riddles for each word and making a prediction for the drama using the vocabulary words. They will be reading the play and engaging in various writing activities, too. All assignments will be posted on Google Classroom each day; we will be having a Zoom meeting on Wednesday, April 1st, at 1:30 P.M and 2:00 P.M. I will be splitting the class into two groups. I will be streaming two different links along with your names. Please look out for it.
