Week of March 27th to March 31st

Reminders:

  1. Tuesday, March 28 to Thursday, March 30 the 6th and 8th grades will be taking the NYS ELA exam.
  2. Thursday, March 30, 2017 is the Honors/Merit Awards Ceremony.  It will take place after 8:30 mass in the church.

5th Grade

            This week the 5th grade will be learning about identifying the different parts of a circle. This will help them when we learn about the circumference formula of a circle next. They will be having a test on perimeter, circumference, and similar and congruent figures on Friday, and we will go over the review sheet on Friday before they take the test.

Thursday, March 30, 2017- Review Sheet; finish classwork

6th Grade

            This week the 6th grade will be having a quiz on Monday on surface area of cubes, rectangular prisms, and cylinders. The rest of the week we will be learning about using formulas to find the volume of cubes, prisms, cylinders, and pyramids. Due to the ELA State Test this week, they will not be having homework this week.

7th Grade

            This week the seventh grade will be having a test on area and perimeter on Monday. The rest of the week will be spent learning about how to classify three-dimensional figures. Next, we will be learning about using formulas to find the surface area of prisms, cylinders, and cones.

8th Grade

            This week the eighth grade will be having a quiz on surface area of prisms, cylinders, pyramids, and cones on Monday. The rest of the week will be spent finishing up learning about volumes of three-dimensional objects. Friday they will have a quiz on finding the volume of figures. They will have access to the formulas and their calculators. Must show all work! Due to ELA State Testing they will not be having homework this week.

5th Grade Religion

This week the 5th grade will be finishing chapter 10: Jesus Christ: The Bread of Life. They will be having a test on this material on Friday. We will be discussing how Jesus strengthens us in the Eucharist. We will then we working on the chapter review in class, and going over it in class.
