5th Grade
This week the fifth grade will be beginning to work with protractors. We will be learning how to measure and draw angles by using a protractor. We will also be learning about how to classify angle according to their measure. Next, we will be exploring different type of polygons and whether or not they form congruent or similar figures. At the end of the week we will begin learning how to find the perimeter of different polygons.
*All fifth graders must come prepared with a protractor on Monday. If they are unprepared it will count as a missing homework!
Monday, March 20, 2017- wkbk pg. 113
Tuesday, March 21, 2017- wkbk pg. 114; measuring angles worksheet
Wednesday, March 22, 2017- wkbk pg. 115

6th Grade
This week the sixth grade will be having a test on finding the area of triangles, rectangles, squares, trapezoids, parallelograms, and circles. As well as finding the circumference of circles. They are responsible for memorizing all of the area formulas that belong to each shape listed above. Next we will be starting to use formulas to find the surface area of different three-dimensional figures. These figures include prisms, pyramids, cylinders, and cones. Next Tuesday they will be having a quiz on just finding the surface area of three-dimensional figures.

7th Grade
This week the seventh grade will be having a quiz on the Pythagorean Theorem on Tuesday. They must have the formula memorized. The rest of the week we will finish learning about area with finding the area of complex figures. Friday they will be having a review day and Monday they will be having a test on everything we learning about area and perimeter.

8th Grade
This week the eighth grade will be working on using formulas to find the lateral and surface area of different kinds of prisms and pyramids. We will also be finding the lateral and surface area using formulas of cylinders and cones. By the end of the week we will be finding the surface area of a sphere and finding the linear dimensions of similar three-dimensional figures. Friday they will be having a quiz on surface area.
