Week of February 13 to the 17th

 

Reminders:

1). Pennies for Patients Bake Sale-Tuesday, February 14th. 

2). Winter Recess-Monday, February 20th-Friday, February 24th.  School will resume on Monday, February 27th.

3). Please continue to donate to our class page for Pennies for Patients; the last day to donate is March 3rd.

5th Grade
This week the class will working on their President Project. They will be creating a Presidential CD. Each CD must include: 20 informative song titles, an eye-catching cover, a title for the CD, and a band name. The students received a rubric and a specific president to research.

2/10: STUDY! Test- Monday!
Research on your president is due on Tuesday!

2/13- The students will be taking a test on “The Jamestown Colony” pages 160-164.
RESEARCH IS DUE TOMORROW!

2/14: Make sure that you have enough research on your president!
Song titles are due typed on Friday.

2/15: Bring in materials so you can begin working on your CD cover and back cover.

Ten song titles must be completed by today!

2/16: Song titles are due typed tomorrow.

6th Grade

2/14: The class will be taking a quiz on “Egypt’s Empires” pages 120-127.

2/15- 2/16: The students will be working on creating their song titles about their presidents. Titles are due typed on Friday! Bring in materials so you can begin working on your CD cover and back cover.

2/15: Ten song titles must be completed by today!

2/17: Presidential Song Titles are due typed today.

7th Grade
The students will be working on their President Project this week. They will be creating a Presidential Time Capsule. They will be making items that represent positive aspects of their president’s time in office, and they will be writing a speech explaining these items. The students have a detailed rubric to follow.

2/13: Quiz signed and corrected.

2/13-2/14: The students will be using their research to write their president’s letters.  Bring in materials so you can begin creating the items that you will be placing in your president’s time capsule.

Letter is due typed on Thursday.

2/15-2/17: The students will be working on creating their items for their time capsule and the actual time capsule box. Make sure that you are prepared to present on Friday!

8th Grade
This week, the students will be working on a President Project. They will imagine that they have been selected to give the eulogy at the funeral of a president they picked in class. They will have to write a one-page eulogy evaluating the life and achievements/failures of their president. The students will also be creating a visual that represents their president. The class was given a detailed rubric to follow.

2/10: STUDY! Test- Monday

2/13: The class will be taking a test on “ Reforming the Workplace” and “The Rights of Women and Minorities” on pages 670-679.

2/14-2/15: The students will be working on writing their eulogies. They are due typed on Thursday. The shape of the visual that represents the presidents is also due on Thursday. The visual should be cut out at home, and the students will work on decorating it during class on Thursday and Friday.

2/16: Typed eulogies are due today. Your cut-out visual is also due today. Make sure you have materials to decorate your visual!

Religion
This week, the students will be discussing the Israelites, their enslavement in Egypt, and the Exodus.  

2/13: STUDY! Test- Friday: “An Enslaved People” pages 96-106.

2/14-2/16: STUDY!

2/17: The class will be taking a test on “An Enslaved People” pages 96-106.
