Week of December 18th-December 22nd

 

Reminders:

1). Our Christmas Show will be taking place this Thursday, December 21st.  The first show is at 10:00 a.m., and the second show is at 7:00 p.m. Please make sure you have purchased your tickets!

2). We will be having a school Mass on Friday, December 22nd.  Mass will be followed by our annual “Breakfast with Santa”. Please send in the money for this event before Friday!

3). We will be dismissing at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 22nd, as well!

4). Wishing all of our OLGCA families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!

5). School will resume on Tuesday, January 2nd. 

 

Grade 5- This week, the students will finish writing their sequel to “Wings for the King”; we will also be playing “Basketball Jeopardy” to review the play and taking an exam on the play as well.  Please keep in mind that due to the Christmas Show, schedules and classwork are tentative.

Monday, December 18th- 1). Study for “Wings for the King” -“Basketball Jeopardy”! 2). Read for 20 minutes; no written reading log is required. 

Tuesday, December 19th- 1). Study for “Wings for the King” Exam; review all of the vocabulary and any questions/classwork!

Wednesday, December 20th– 1). Complete a written reading log.   2). Be sure to have your novel to complete a reading log in class tomorrow.  

Thursday, December 21st- 1). There is no homework tonight! There is no written homework over the break; please read your novels as much as you can over the break! Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!

Grade 6- This week, the students will be working on various comprehension questions based on “Elizabeth Blackwell: Medical Pioneer”; we will also be playing “Basketball Jeopardy” to review this drama and taking an exam on it as well.  Please keep in mind that due to the Christmas Show, schedules and classwork are tentative.

Monday, December 18th- 1). Make sure the “Reader Response” questions are completed, and study for “Basketball Jeopardy”- “Elizabeth Blackwell2). Read for 20 minutes; no written reading log is required. 

Tuesday, December 19th- 1). Study for “Elizabeth Blackwell: Medical Pioneer” Exam.  Be sure to review the vocabulary list, along with any questions/classwork.

Grade 7- This week, the students will be playing “Basketball Jeopardy” to review “The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street” and taking an exam on the teleplay as well.  Please keep in mind that due to the Christmas Show, schedules and classwork are tentative.

Religion- The students will continue working on their “Advent/Christmas” Children’s Book. The students will be working on questions based on Advent and Christmas; this will be graded.

Grade 8- This week, the students will be taking an exam on “The Diary of Anne Frank”.  They will also be writing a diary entry from the perspective of one of the characters on what he/she viewed during the important events throughout the play.  Please keep in mind that due to the Christmas Show, schedules and classwork are tentative.

Monday, December 18th- 1). “The Diary of Anne Frank” Exam is today. 2). Read for 20 minutes; no written reading log is required. 

Tuesday, December 19th- 1). Be sure your diary entry in completed from today; this will be graded; include important aspects of what we have read; you must incorporate at least five vocabulary words. 

Wednesday, December 20th- 1). Complete a written reading log.   2). Be sure to have your novel to complete a reading log in class tomorrow.
