Week of December 12th- December 16th

                                             REMINDERS:

  1. School Mass followed by Trimester One Awards Ceremony-Tuesday, December 13th at 8:30 a.m.

 

Grade 5- This week, the students will be presenting their Unit 3 plays; each play included all 12 vocabulary words; they will also begin creating 15 Jeopardy questions in class that focus on Unit 3.  The students will be engaging in a game of Jeopardy and taking a Spelling/Vocabulary exam on this unit, too.  Lastly, the students will be reading “The Tallest Sailor in the World” (Vocabulary for Comprehension) and answering multiple choice questions based on various vocabulary words from Units 1-3.

Tentative Homework/Testing Schedule:

Monday, December 12th– 1). Complete a reading log.  2). Make sure 15 Jeopardy questions are completed from class.

Tuesday, December 13th- 1). Complete a reading log. 2). Study for Spelling/Vocabulary Jeopardy for tomorrow! 3). Write each vocabulary word 3X each.

Wednesday, December 14th– 1). Complete a reading log. 2). Study for Unit 3 Spelling/Vocabulary Exam!

Thursday, December 15th– 1). Complete a reading log.

Upcoming Exams: Unit 3 Spelling/Vocabulary Exam-Thursday, December 15th. 

Grade 6- This week, the students will be creating 20 Jeopardy questions in class that focus on Unit 3.  The students will be engaging in a game of Jeopardy and taking a Spelling/Vocabulary exam on this unit, too.  Lastly, the students will be working on a review that focus on Units 1-3; they will independently be working on: “Vocabulary for Comprehension”. “Two-Word Completions”, and we will also be identifying idioms.  The students will then be using context clues to figure out the meaning of each idiom.

Tuesday, December 13th- 1). Read for 20 minutes; no written reading log is required. 2). Study for Unit 3 Spelling/Vocabulary Exam for tomorrow! 3). Write each vocabulary word 3X each.

Wednesday, December 14th– 1). Complete a reading log.

Thursday, December 15th– 1). Complete a reading log. 2). Make sure Vocabulary Workshop pages 42-45 are completed from class. 3). Get Unit 3 Exam signed, and make corrections.

Religion– This week, the students will be reading about Advent and Christmas independently.  They will be outlining the sections and creating five short answer questions for each topic; both will be graded as a quiz grade.

Thursday, December 15th– 1).  Religion– read and outline pages 281-283 (Christmas); create five short answer questions with answers; this will be graded as a quiz; type or write neatly! 2). ELA-Make sure Vocabulary Workshop pages 42-45 are completed from class. 3). Get Unit 3 Exam signed, and make corrections.
