For The Week of 3/19/18

Eighth Grade

Monday: On Monday, we will be working on rotation. Rotation moves and turns an object from one quadrant to another quadrant. This topic is covered on page 317 in the workbook. For homework do problems five and six on page 317.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will finish Rotation and begin Dilations. To dilate, you need to use the percent of dilation given and multiple the percent based upon the given sets. For homework do problems 13 and 14 on page 320.

Wednesday: Field Trip- no homework.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will complete the topic of dilation and begin the topic of Combined Transformations. Combined involve having at least two figures on the coordinate plane that are rotated. For homework do problems five and six on page 322.

Friday: On Friday we will complete the topic of Combined Transformations on page 322. There is no homework.

Seventh Grade

Monday: On Monday, we will begin Circumference and the Area of a Circle. The formula for Circumference the measurement of the outside of the circle, is: Pi times Diameter. The formula for area is: A=Pi time’s radius. For homework do problems 17-20 on page 321..

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will complete the topic of Circumference and area of a circle. For homework do problems 29-32.

Wednesday: Field trip and there is no homework.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will begin: Points, Lines, and Planes. This topic leads to measuring angles and transversals. We will be working on pages 271 and 272. For homework do problems 23-27 on page 272

Friday: On Friday, We will be working on measuring angles on page 273 and there is no homework.

Sixth Grade

Monday: On Monday, we will begin the topic of Lines and Angles. We will discuss types of angles and their measurements. We will also, discuss how to use a protractor. For homework do problems seven-12 on page 123.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will discuss Angle Pairs. This involves dissecting lines, such as complementary and supplementary lines. For homework do problems 17-19 on page 124 in the workbook.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, there is a field trip and there is no homework.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will continue working on Angles of Parallel Lines on page 125. For homework do problems nine-11 on page 125.

Friday: On Friday, we will use protractors to measure angles on page 127 as well as having the students create their own angles to measure. There is no homework.

Fifth Grade

Monday: On Monday, we will be working on Line Graphs on page 87 in the workbook. For homework do problems six-nine on page 87.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will be working on the topic: Interpret Circle Graphs on page 88 in the workbook. For homework do problems 10-12 in the workbook.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, there is a field trip and no homework.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will be working on Solving Diagram word problems on page 89 in the workbook. We will discuss and create Venn Diagrams that will be used in this topic. For homework do problems five and six on page 89.

Friday: On Friday, we will finish the topic of diagrams on page 90 in the workbook. This involves more word problems. There is no homework.
