Tentative Homework/Tests/Quizzes/Projects for the Week of October 30th – November3rd

Reminders:

1). Wednesday, November 1st- there is a 10:00 a.m. Mass for All Saint’s Day.

2). Wednesday, November 1st- our Student Council Election will be taking place at 1:30 p.m. 

 

3rd Grade Week at a Glance:

Math

In Chapter 6, students will multiply and divide using 6, 7, 8, and 9, multiply using three factors, relate multiplication and division, and solve problems using the “Guess and Test” strategy.

Science

In Chapter 12, the students will define energy and explain the difference between kinetic and potential energy, identify the sources of types of energy people use for different purposes, define temperature, investigate the power of wind to move objects, describe ways people can conserve energy resources, and explain the difference between renewable and nonrenewable energy resources.

Religion

In Chapter 5, the students will learn about the Apostles who led the Church and about those who remained true followers of Jesus despite the risk of losing their lives.  The children are researching and presenting saints lives in honor of All Saint’s Day.

Religion:  Chapter 4 Quiz Tuesday, 10/31.  Saint Report due Wednesday, 11/1.

In Chapter 3, the students will

In Chapter 6, the students will explain how living things use the energy from sunlight, describe how living things relate to each other, plain and construct a food chain, explain how consumers depend on other living things, and describe how energy moves through food chains and food webs.
