Tentative Homework/Test Schedule for the week of December 5th-9th

Grade 3:

This week, in math the students will focus on division facts 6-9, identifying and extending number patterns, identifying multiplication and division fact families, use various strategies in order to solve multiplication and division problems, use estimation and mental computation to check reasonableness of answers, and to represent story problems with expressions using a letter to stand for the unknown.  The students study division facts 0-9 and workbook pages 69-73.

This week, in science the students will focus on reviewing Chapter 14 lessons 1 and 2.  Students should study vocabulary, notes for lessons 1 and 2, and RS pages 101-105.  These should all be taped into the student’s science notebook.

This week, in religion the students will learn about the ways Catholics listen and talk to God in prayer.

Monday, December 5th:

  1. Science Independent Inquiry due Friday, 12/9.
  2. Science Chapter 14 Lessons 1 and 2 Test Friday, 12/9.
  3. Math Division Tic-Tack-Toe and Word Problem worksheet.
  4. Math Chapter 6 Lessons 7-11 Quiz tomorrow.

Tuesday, December 6th:

  3. Math Workbook page 74 Operation Patterns.

Wednesday, December 8th:

  4. Math Chapter 6 Lessons 12-16, 14A, and 14B Quiz Tuesday, 12/12.

Grade 4:

This week, in math the students will review on multiplication comparisons and dividing with and without remainders, multiply whole numbers up to four digits by one-digit whole numbers, multiply two-digit by two-digit numbers, divide up to four digit dividends by one digit divisors with remainders, use equations, rectangular arrays, and area models to illustrate and explain calculations. Students should study workbook pages 53-58, and 187-190.

This week, in science the students will read and learn how living things group together to make up different ecosystem, discover how biotic and abiotic factors affect the ecosystem and how climate influences an ecosystem, explain how humans use resources, and describe positive and negative ways humans affect ecosystems.

  3. Science Chapter 5 Test Thursday, 12/15 or Friday, 12/16.
