**3 ^{rd} Grade Week at a Glance:**

__Math__

In Chapter 6, students will multiply and divide using 6, 7, 8, and 9, multiply using three factors, relate multiplication and division, and solve problems using the “Guess and Test” strategy.

__Science__

In Chapter 12, the students will define energy and explain the difference between kinetic and potential energy, identify the sources of types of energy people use for different purposes, define temperature, investigate the power of wind to move objects, describe ways people can conserve energy resources, and explain the difference between renewable and nonrenewable energy resources.

__Religion__

In Chapter 5, the students will learn about the Apostles who led the Church and about those who remained true followers of Jesus despite the risk of losing their lives.

**Math**

In Chapter 3, the students will use addition ad subtraction algorithms to 5 digits, with regrouping, add three or more addends, subtract with zeros in the minuend, add and subtract money amounts, with regrouping, solve a problem by choosing the correct operation.

**Science**

In Chapter 6, the students will explain how living things use the energy from sunlight, describe how living things relate to each other, plain and construct a food chain, explain how consumers depend on other living things, and describe how energy moves through food chains and food webs.
