Tentative Homework/Tests/Quizzes/Projects for the Week of January 22nd-26th.

Reminders:

1). 6-8 Math Bee will be taking place on Tuesday, January 23rd, at 1:15 P.M.

2). Pennies for Patients Kick-Off Assembly will be held on Friday, January 26th.

3). 12:00 Mass to celebrate the beginning of Catholic School’s Week will be on Sunday, January 28th followed by our Open House.

 

3rd Grade at a Glance

Math:  In chapter 1, students will read and write numbers through 999,999, compare and order whole numbers and money amounts, round whole numbers and money amounts, and draw a picture to help solve problems.

Science:  In Chapter 15, students will investigate different kinds of motion, identify and describe types of motion, define speed, investigate the motion of an object sliding down a ramp, define force and describe how forces affect motion, define weight, observe the motion of different kinds of waves, define waves and describe waves’ motion, and identify the parts of a wave.

Religion:  In Chapter 9, students will learn more about the Church and the ways in which the Church teaches us.

 

3rd Grade Homework:

Monday:

Math: Problem-Solving Applications:  Mixed Review Workbook page 12 omit numbers 2,8, and 9.  Chapter 1 Test (omit lessons 1-10 and 1-11) on Wednesday, 1/24.  Review worksheets that have come home and Workbook pages 1-7 and 10-12.  

Science:  Fill in notes for Chapter 15 Lesson 3.  Due Wednesday.  Chapter 15 Test Thursday, 1/25.

Religion:    Chapter 9 and Apostles’ Creed Test Thursday, 1/25.

Tuesday:

Math: Review Chapter 1 Lessons 1-9 and 12-14 for Chapter 1 Test (omit lessons 1-10 and 1-11) on Wednesday, 1/24.  Review worksheets that have come home and Workbook pages 1-7 and 10-12.   

Science:  Fill in notes for Chapter 15 Lesson 3.  Due Wednesday.  Chapter 15 Test Thursday, 1/25.

Religion:  Chapter 9 and Apostles’ Creed Test Thursday, 1/25. 

Wednesday:

Math:  More Than Two-Addends; Missing Addends Workbook page 13 Numbers 1-18.

Science:  Chapter 15 Test Thursday, 1/25.

Religion:  Chapter 9 and Apostles’ Creed Test Thursday, 1/25.

Thursday:

Math:  More Than Two-Addends; Missing Addends Workbook page 13 Numbers 19-13 .

 

4th Grade at a Glance

Math:  In Chapter 4, students will use multiplication properties, models, and patterns, estimate products, multiply up to a 4-digit number by a 1-digit number, with and without regrouping, multiply a 2-digit number by a 2-digit number with and without regrouping, and solve problems by working backwards.

Science:  In Chapter 8 , students will identify and describe major landforms, explain how landforms develop, make a model of a volcanic eruption, describe Earth’s structure, identify and describe the forces that change Earth’s surface, investigate what animal tracks tell about the animals that made them, define fossils and tell how they form, and explain what the fossil record is

Science:   Chapter 8 Test Thursday, 1/25.

Math: Problem-Solving Strategy Work Backward Workbook page 51.  (This may be challenging for some, so just try your best!  We will discuss our answers tomorrow.) Review for Chapter 4 Test Thursday, 1/25 (Workbook pages 37-52, 175-186, and 236-241)

Wednesday:

Science:  Chapter 8 Test Thursday, 1/25.

Math:  Division Rules and Relate Multiplication and Division Workbook pages 53-54.  Review for Chapter 4 Test Thursday, 1/25. (Workbook pages 37-52, 175-186, and 236-241)

Thursday:

Math:  Missing Numbers Workbook page 55.
