It has certainly been a weekend full of unexpected twists and turns. First and foremost I hope that you are all well. As a parent, I have the same thoughts and concerns as all of you. We will all get through this together.
I will be posting daily on this page as well as having a 30 minute, face to face, virtual interaction with the children on school days. I will be using the Zoom App which can be accessed on any smartphone, tablet or computer. Please create an account for your child to use. We will be “meeting” every day at 10:30 am.
I will be hosting a meeting this evening at 7pm to test the app out with a parent.
You will need the following meeting code so your child can join: 874-346-4474
I will be able to see every child that has joined the meeting and they will be able to see me. Please explain to your child that they will be able to see me as well as all of their friends during our calls. I am excited to begin this new way of learning with them!
On Friday, I sent home a packet to use along with our morning meetings. For those who did not receive it, I have added a link at the end of this post so you can print it. Each night I will post which sheets and any materials (crayon, pencil, etc.) they will need for the following days lesson. Please do not have them complete the worksheets on their own. The children should be seated at a table during our meetings with a space that is comfortable for them to be able to draw, color and write. I prefer that the child not hold their device so that their hands are free for songs, writing and movement.
Our first meeting will be on Tuesday at 10:30 am. Tonight, please have your child complete the fourth page of the packet which is a leprechaun face. They can draw a face for the leprechaun and use any color they like for his/her hair, hat and bowtie. After they have completed the sheet have them give their leprechaun a name. They will be sharing this work with me and their friends at our Tuesday meeting! Also, please have the first two sheets of the packet (St. Patrick’s Day graphing and the Itsy Bitsy St. Patrick’s day Book) ready fir them to complete with me. They should have a box of crayons and a pencil available each time we meet.
I hope you can all join me this evening at 7pm on the Zoom app.
I am keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers. I will miss my daily hugs and pictures. All of the stories I hear about mommy or daddy. The cute faces, the giggles and most of all the love I receive from your children. I can’t wait to be back in the classroom and to see those smiling faces.
