PE GYM UNIFORM POLICY: (UPDATE)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             
ON PE GYM CLASS DAYS: STUDENT ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR PROPER FOOTWEAR: FOR ALL STUDENTS HEALTH, PHYSICAL ACTIVITY SAFETY, & WELLBEING:All students will wear the regulation gym uniform to school on the day they have physical education gym class. If a student is not dressed properly they will sit out which will reflect in their grade. Jewelry may NOT be worn in class! LOW TOP CONVERSE SNEAKERS OR CASUAL SLIP IN SNEAKERS SHOULD NOT BE WORN TO PE CLASS ON SCHEDULED PHYS ED CLASS DATES. INORDER TO PREVENT THE LIKELIHOOD OR OCCURRENCE OF AND ANKLE INJURY OR SPRAIN.                         

*RUNNING SHOES, BASKETBALL SHOES, CROSS-TRAINING SHOES, AND TENNIS SHOES ARE IDEAL IN A PHYSICAL EDUCATION SETTING.

PE PROGRESS REPORTS: WILL BE COMMUNICATED AND TRANSMITTED TO YOU. PROGRESS REPORTS: WILL BEGIN TO BE SUBMITTED TO PARENTS/GUARDIANS THROUGH GOOGLE HANGOUTS/ MEDIA TEXT MESSAGING APP. (1X TIME DURING THE 2nd & 3rd  TRIMESTER CYCLES {1 1/2} MONTH’S BEFORE REPORT CARDS ARE DUE. )

PE PROGRESS GRADES:  ARE CATEGORIZED THROUGH TWO FACETS – STUDENT MOVERS WHO EXHIBIT  PERSONAL SKILL PERFORMANCE & PE CITIZENSHIP CHARACTER-SOCIAL SKILL PERFORMANCE.

PE Grading Scale for PE Character Social Skill Behavioral Performance –  IS BASED ON…    PE CITIZENSHIP CHARACTER: Students have been coached an led to participate within the Participation Pillars-to earn (PE CITIZENSHIP GREEN CARD POINTS):
1.) RESPECT, 2.) SELF RESPONSIBILITY, 3.) SAFETY-CONSCIOUSNESS, 4.) INTEGRITY,  5.) SELF-CONTROL, & 6.) SPORTSMANSHIP – (RRSISS).

MOVING FORWARD WE WILL COMMUNICATE AS A FIRST CHOICE METHOD OF COMMUNICATION: AT THE PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES. IF YOU ARE NOT AVAILABLE ON THOSE DATES WE CAN MAKE AN ALTERNATIVE  APPOINTMENT DATE AND TIME FOR EITHER 7:30 AM OR 2:30 PM. PE Movement Learning Experience Mission Statement: Gr PK-8                                         

Pursue purposeful/meaningful activity movement patterns within physical activities which lead to lifelong physical activity skills whether in sports, exercise/fitness, movement games/adventure outdoor play, exploration, orienteering for all children, youth, & young people of all ability levels and ages. Our participation in physical activities should be geared toward activities on land, air, water, snow, and ice. We should all be engaged in physical activity within the present, future, and lifetime engagement opportunities, in movement patterns/exploration, recreational/competitive league or club activities, health wellness fitness training, and sports education activities.

This notice is to inform you about the OLGCA Program Guidelines for Grades PK-8. 

The Physical Activities will be utilized to stimulate and enhance body, soul, spirit & mind/brain development, through health optimizing fundamental motor physical skill challenges. Please look through these pertinent documents which will inform your family about physical activity games, sports, fitness practices, and expectations which you’re child/children and youth will be participating in during the course of this year!

PE Goals: (Objectives)
*The Physical Activities will be utilized to stimulate and enhance body, soul, & brain, spiritual development, through health optimizing physical challenges.

*Increase physical activity level for all students by 3 %, while students are engaged in moderate to vigorous physical activity 60 percent of class time.

*The student populous in Grades K-8 will learn to apply the meaning of the P.E. Motto.

PE Educational Mission Statement : to coach and guide the student populous through instructive learning experiences through engaging lesson activities that  guide children and young people, within a high quality PE Program that promotes the development of the spiritual, cognitive, affective & physical domain through physical literacy activities that will further engage, empower, educate the student learners/movers to develop confidence, competence, through quality psychomotor movement experiences that will develop their health fitness, and positive self concept and interpersonal relations in play and sports activities which reflect the gospel values of justice, fair play, cooperation! I am committed to creating a Christ-Centered Learning Environment that encourages continuous learning through skill performance and achievement toward smart goals.

PHYSED. PROG. ACTIVITIES: 2018-2019
1) Cooperative Challenge Activities – for Grades 1-8: Partner & Group Stunts Pyramids, Flag Grab Games, & Tag Games, Scoopers – Toss & Shoot Game.

2) TGfU-Sport Ed Season GamePlay Activities: Grades 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8: Soccer, Flag Football {Games Sense Progressions} Floorball, (Korfball-Basketball- Sport Game Days),(Volleyball 4 Team Game Play – Sports Game Days), 

3) Cooperative Indoor Team Racing Events: CITRE_Camp: Grades 3-8.

4) Fitness Education Training  Activities Gr. 5,6,7,8: Fitness Testing Goals will be met through an individual battery of tests to met individual exercise performance; Push Ups, Curl Ups, Shuttle Run, Jump Roping, & 1 Mile Run/Walk – (22 Laps runs around gym perimeter).
