Ms. Amuso – Week of 11/14/16

Grade 5

This week, the students will continue working on their Trimester One Book Report Projects. They will be finishing their final drafts of their Apple i-phones and the six applications that focus on vital aspects of their book. The students will be presenting their projects to the class; next, the students will be working on an essay that is part of a contest given by Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. This essay will focus on the following question: “What are you thankful for this year?” The students will fill in a graphic organizer and begin their rough drafts in class; they will be typing thier final drafts at home and presenting their writing to the class.

Tentative Homework/Testing Schedule:

Monday, November 14th 1). Complete a reading log.

Tuesday, November 15th 1). Complete a reading log.

Wednesday, November 16th 1). Complete a reading log.

Thursday, November 17th 1). Complete a reading log. 2). Type final draft of “Thanksgiving Essay”; be sure the rough draft is completed from class today.

Upcoming Quiz/Exam:

Grade 6

This week, the students will continue working on their final drafts of their Instagram page based on the book they have read for Trimester One. They will continue creating six pictures in sequential order based on significant parts of their book; these pictures must be vital aspects of the beginning, middle, and end of the book. They will be presenting these projects to the class this week. Lastly, the students will be working on an essay that is part of a contest given by Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. This essay will focus on the following question: “What are you thankful for this year?” The students will fill in a graphic organizer and begin their rough drafts in class; they will be typing thier final drafts at home and presenting their writing to the class.

This week, the students will be focusing on Chapter 3: The Blessed Trinity; they will be using each letter in the word “RELATIONSHIP” to list elements of a good friendship or family relationship. They will be reviewing in depth the Blessed Trinity and how the mystery of the Blessed Trinity is central to our faith.

They will be drawing their illustrations and incoporating their typed story line in the book; the book will include illustrations and important aspects of the beginning, middle, and end of the novel. They will be sharing their books to the class; lastly, the students will be working on an essay that is part of a contest given by Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. This essay will focus on the following question: “What are you thankful for this year?” The students will fill in a graphic organizer and begin their rough drafts in class; they will be typing thier final drafts at home and presenting their writing to the class.
