Grade 4: Week of March 16th- 20th

ATTENTION STUDENTS: VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION!  PLEASE CHECK YOUR GOOGLE ACCOUNTS FOR AN EMAIL TO JOIN MY  GOOGLE CLASSROOM!

Steps for logging in to Google Classroom:

  1. To login to Google Classroom go to www.google.com
  2. Click the circle with an initial or sign in in the top right-hand corner of the page. 
  3. Type in username and password. Be sure to spell everything correctly. (The password is Welcome!)
  4. Click the 9 small squares at the top right-hand corner of the page to open all google apps. 
  5. Click Classroom.
  • The stream tab is where you will see all updates and posts. I ask that students do not post messages on the stream unless specified. 
  • The classwork tab is where you will see all assignments. Click on an assignment for more details. 
  • The grades tab is where grades processed by google classroom can be viewed. All grades will be posted on OptionC. 
  • Uploading assignments may require creating a document rather than posting a response as a comment. I will specify if that is the case. 
  • I may also ask that a picture is uploaded in an assignment as proof of written paper homework.

  • prepare for the New York State English Language Arts Assessment on 3/25-3/36.
  • prepare for the New York State Math Assessment on 4/21-4/26.
  • begin Math- Chapter 7:  Add and Subtract Fractions.
  • begin Religion- Chapter 10:  The Second Commandment.
  • begin Social Studies Chapter 5 Life in Colonial New York

1.)  ELA: Complete NYS 2018 English Language Arts Test Session 1 Book.  (Please take pictures of the pages or type answers for questions 1-24 and email them to me.)

 

2.)  Math:  Sign into Think Central.  Click on My Library.  Click on Interactive Student Edition.  Click on Chapter 7 Add and Subtract Fractions.  Click on 7.1 Add Parts of a Whole.  Watch video.  Then Complete pages 385-387 and 389. (Please take pictures of these pages  or type the answers and email them to me.)  Homework:   Complete Think Central Lesson 7.1.  (I will be able to check this work online.)

What is one example of Dutch culture in New York?

Tuesday:

1.)  ELA: Complete NYS 2018 English Language Arts Test Session 2 Book Questions 25-27.  (Please take pictures of the written work or type the answers for questions 25-27 and email them to me.)  Remember to restate questions and add direct details from the story like we have been practicing. ***One of the questions refers to theme.  Remember we discussed theme in class.  It is a message the author is trying to convey, “the big idea”, or a lesson being taught.

 

2.)  Math: Sign into Think Central.  Click on My Library.  Click on Interactive Student Edition.  Click on Chapter 7 Add and Subtract Fractions.  Click on 7.2 Write Fractions as Sums.  Watch video.  Then Complete pages 391-393 (Please take pictures of these pages or type the answers for questions and email them to me.)    **Optional** Think Central Lesson 7.2.

Then Complete pages 403-405 and 407. Then Complete pages 409-410 and 413.
