Grade 4: Week of February 10th – 14th

This week, the fourth grade will…

  • wrap up project for the novel Matilda by Roald Dahl.
  • wrap up Math- Chapter 5:  Factors, Multiples, and Patterns.
  • wrap up Social Studies- Chapter 4:  Europeans Come to New York.
  •  use Transitions in writing.
  • prepare to read read a nonfiction article about Matthew Henson, co-discoverer of the North Pole.  The students will conclude that the author wrote the article to inform readers of Henson’s achievements and to make them aware of an explorer who has been over looked because of his race.    

Tests/Quizzes:

1.)  Social Studies: Chapter 4 Test on Friday, 2/14.

2.) Math:  Mid-Chapter 5 Test Friday, 2/14.  Optional Think Central Assignments have been posted for review.

3.)  Complete Matilda project at home and return to school on Tuesday, 2/11– include writing from notebook, colorful illustrations, colorful book cover 


 

Tentative Homework:

Monday:

1. Math:  Complete Factor and Multiples worksheet page 5-11.  Chapter 5 Test Friday, 2/14.  Optional Think Central Assignments have been posted.

2. Reading:  Read 1 chapter or for 20 minutes and complete the reading log.

3. Social Studies:  Study for Chapter 4 Test on Friday, 2/14.

4. Optional Poetry Contest due Friday, 2/14.
