Grade 4: Week of April 29th


Reminders:

1). School resumes on Monday, April 29th.

2). Grades 4,6, and 7 Mathematics State Exam will be taking place on Wednesday, May 1st, and Thursday, May 2nd.

3). First Friday Mass will be on Friday, May 3rd; there is a 12:00 p.m. dismissal this day as well.

Homework

Monday: 

1.) Math:  Complete page 479 and 480. 

2.)  Science:  Get materials for project by Friday, 5/3.

 

Tuesday:

1.)  Math:  NYS Math Assessment Wednesday and Thursday.

2.)  Science:  Get materials for project by Friday, 5/3.

 

 

Wednesday:

1.)  Math:  NYS Math Assessment tomorrow.

2.)  Science:  Get materials for project by Friday, 5/3.

 

 

Thursday:

1.)  Science: From your notes, write a paragraph 6-10 sentences long(rough draft) including facts and information on the topic you have been assigned to for your project. This should be in YOUR OWN WORDS.  You can get the information you need from your Science text and from the internet.  Get materials for project by tomorrow.

2.)  ELA:  Grammar Workshop page 139 Writing with Adverbs.

Science Project:  Rock Unit Poster

Students are working in groups of four (randomly picked) to create a poster that will display information about The Rock Cycle, The Three Types of Rocks, Weathering and Erosion, and How Soil is formed.  Each student was given a specific topic to research, write about, illustrate, and asked to bring in specific supplies for their group.  This project is being completed in school.  So far the only assignments for this project were to bring in supplies by Friday, 5/3 and to write a 6-10 sentence paragraph description (rough draft) from their notes on the topic they were assigned.
