For The Week of February 4, 2019

                                                                                 For The Week of 2-4-2019

                                                                                              Eighth Grade:

On Monday, I will introduce a different approach regarding solving for the Rotation method than in the text book. I will assign graph paper and a problem for the students to solve for homework.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will begin the topic of Dilations. For homework do problems four –six on page 316.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will continue with dilations. For homework do problem 20 a,b,and c on page 320.   

Thursday: On Thursday, we will review for a quiz on dilations on Friday. For homework review any notes you have taken and any readings from the book regarding testing material.    

Friday: On Friday there will be a quiz on dilations. There is no homework.   

                                                                                             Seventh Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will continue with the project and introduce Surface Area. I will introduce to the students how to calculate the surface area of an object using graph paper. I will introduce how to calculate the surface area based upon the amount of cm covered in whole, more than 50 percent, and one third of a (cm) on the grid. Next, I will instruct the students to place their airplane on the grid and calculate the surface area based upon the proportional measurement. For homework, begin writing your reflection paper on the paper airplane project.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, I will review the students work on the measurements they took for the surface area. For homework, continue working on your reflection. Your reflection needs to be printed.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will have a pre-flight testing in the Gym of the planes; any adjustment to your plane must be completed by Wednesday night. For homework, continue working on your reflection paper.

Thursday: On Thursday, if the weather is suitable, the students will fly their planes to see whose plane went the furthest. First place gets 20 extra points, second place gets 10 points, and third place gets five points. For homework, work on your reflection paper.

Friday: On Friday, the class will review drawing to scale, surface area, and what they learned from the project. There is no homework.

                                              

                                                                                             Sixth Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will be working on writing expressions. For homework do problems nine and 10 on page 264.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will continue working on writing expressions. For homework do problems 22-29 on page 266

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will work on word problems and expressions. For homework do problems 35 and 36 on page 267.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will work on page 268 covering word problems and expressions. For homework do problems 43-45 on page 268.

Friday: On Friday, we will start the topic evaluating expressions. There is no homework. There will be a test on expressions on Monday February 11th.

                                                                                           Fifth Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will begin working on the topic of Sequence. For homework do problems four-six on page 561.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will continue working on sequence problems. For homework do problems five-seven on page 563.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will finish the topic of sequence. For homework do problems five and six on page 564. On Thursday there will be a religion test on the vocabulary words that were assigned last week.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will begin the topic of problems solving. For homework do problems five and six on page 568.

Friday: On Friday, we will continue working on problems solving on pages 569-570. There is no homework.
