2nd Grade: Week of 1/7-1/11

Week at a Glance:

ELA- a) Superkids: use memory words to complete sentences, meaning of words are called definitions, understand what “tag-along-e” means and adverbs tell how someone does something.

Math- solve problems involving equal groups by using the strategy act it out and write equations using repeated addition to find the total number of objects in arrays

S.S.- Identify and describe the physical characteristics of various landforms

Science- Understand which animals belong to which habitat, review for ch.1 Unit B, and take Ch.1 test

Religion- Identify that the New Testament is the second part of the Bible, to explore some of Jesus’ teachings and review ideas that are key to growing as disciples of Jesus Christ.

ELA: Reading- An additional Reading Log will be sent home today to be started over the break and due on Friday, January 4th. I advise my students to continue to read in 20-minute increments over the break so that their books stay fresh in their minds. Since it is a holiday break, I am asking that only 4, 20-minute reading sessions (minimum) take place from now until the reading log due date on January 4th (the Friday of the week we return to school). If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.
