# What’s happening in the Science Lab?

January 13, 2017

The 3rd Grade investigated the motion of an object sliding down a ramp.

# Mrs. Cuccio – 4th Grade Science Lab – Water and Plant Stems

The 4th Grade students investigated how water moves through plant stems.  First, the girls filled up two cups with water adding red food coloring to one cup and blue food coloring to the other cup.  Next,  they split a celery stalk from the middle to the bottom.  Then, they placed one side of the celery stem into the red water and one side of the celery stem into the blue water.   The girls predicted what they thought would happen over the weekend.  On Monday we went to observe what happened to the celery’s leaves.  The girls found that half of the celery’s leaves were red and half were blue.  The girls concluded that plant stems help take water and nutrients to the other parts of the plant.

# Mrs. Cuccio – 3rd Grade Science Lab – Volume of a Liquid

The 3rd Grade students Measured the volume of a liquid. The students learned to use data, observations, and facts that they have already learned to predict what they thought would happen in the future.
