Letter from our principal.

October 30, 2018

Dear Parents of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Academy,

Fall is finally here! I am pleased to say that it has been an exciting and exhilarating start of the school year. The students and staff have settled into the routine of school.  In a few days we will be approaching the month of November. November is a month to remember all the men and women who serve our country. It is also a time to reflect and give thanks for family and friends that are so much a part of our lives. I would like to thank all of our volunteers who assisted in making the Pumpkin Patch a huge success. I could see the excitement in the children’s eyes throughout the entire day.  The students look forward to this wonderful, fun-filled event.

On All Saints Day at 10:00 a.m. grades Kindergarten through Eighth Grade will celebrate mass with Father Marc. Many of the students in grades Kindergarten through Fourth Grade will be dressing up as their favorite saints. I hope many of you will have the opportunity to celebrate All Saints Day Mass with our school community.

On Wednesday, November 7th, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., the students in Nursery through Fourth Grade will be remembering our veterans by presenting a Veterans Day show.  The students and teachers have been working extremely hard practicing for this special event.  I hope that many of the families can come and enjoy this wonderful performance.

I would like to thank all of the families and staff who supported the Ashley Farms-Broadway Cafefundraiser. The pickup date for all of the pies/cakes will be on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. A notice will go home with the specific time for pick up.

Please keep our Eighth Grade students in your prayers. They will be taking the TACHS Exam on Saturday, November 3, 2018. The entire faculty and staff of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Academy wishes you lots of luck!

Best Wishes,

Miss McManus

Letter from the Principal

Dear Parents of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Academy,

It has been a pleasure to welcome back all of the parents, students, and staff of Our Lady of Catholic Academy to a new school year and new beginnings.  I hope everyone had a wonderful summer filled with relaxing and enjoyable time spent with family and friends.  We are incredibly excited to begin a new year here at OLGCA. The last two weeks of school were wonderful! It was great to see the students filled with enthusiasm and reuniting with friends, teachers and peers. We welcome our new families to the OLGCA Community.  During the last two weeks, we have already had many exciting events take place.

On Friday, September 7th, 2018, the students and teachers in grades one through eight celebrated Back to School by attending Mass with Fr. Marc. On Friday, September 14th, 2018, The Paul Effman Band Service came and performed a demo of a variety of instruments for the students in grades (1-8).  This demo performance gave the students the opportunity to see what particular instruments they may be interested in learning, if they decided to join the band. The registration process is still ongoing, and the first band session with Mr. Sorentino will be on Tuesday, October 9th through June 2019. This is a great after-school club for those interested in learning an instrument or continuing to improve your skills.

On Thursday, September 20, 2018 you had the opportunity to meet your child’s teachers and to get an overview of their educational program. This was a great night to learn about the day in the life of an Our Lady of Grace Catholic Academy student. During the course of the school year, if you have a question or concern for the teacher, please do not hesitate to contact them. The teacher’s email addresses are all located on our website at During the meeting, I mentioned that we will be going through the Accreditation process through Advanced Ed. A component before the visit is to gather feedback from parents in regards to the climate and culture at Our Lady Grace Catholic Academy. I ask that you please complete the confidential survey by copying and pasting the link:

Please continue to support our school through our various organizations. For more detailed information on how to register for these fundraisers, please visit our school website and find the Support Our School archive.

Our Lady of Grace Catholic Academy has been and will continue to be a peanut-free environment. This means that every child is asked to bring snacks and lunches free of any peanuts or nuts. Also please remember that fast food is not permitted for lunch.

Please know that we greatly value home/school communication here at Our Lady of Catholic Academy.  Parent involvement plays a critical role in our school’s success.  Please continue to check Option C regularly to stay informed of your child’s academic progress.

Save the Date: OLGCA’s First Annual Oktoberfest Celebration will be taking place on Saturday, October 13th, 2018, from 6:00pm-10:00pm in the OLGCA Gym. Tickets can be purchased online at, at OLGCA and at selected masses at OLG Church. I hope you, your family, and friends, can come out for this fun event.

I look forward to a very positive and productive year together!

                                                                                                                                                                                    Best Wishes,

Miss McManus
