### For The Week of February 4, 2019

For The Week of 2-4-2019

Eighth Grade:

On Monday, I will introduce a different approach regarding solving for the Rotation method than in the text book. I will assign graph paper and a problem for the students to solve for homework.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will begin the topic of Dilations. For homework do problems four –six on page 316.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will continue with dilations. For homework do problem 20 a,b,and c on page 320.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will review for a quiz on dilations on Friday. For homework review any notes you have taken and any readings from the book regarding testing material.

Friday: On Friday there will be a quiz on dilations. There is no homework.

Seventh Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will continue with the project and introduce Surface Area. I will introduce to the students how to calculate the surface area of an object using graph paper. I will introduce how to calculate the surface area based upon the amount of cm covered in whole, more than 50 percent, and one third of a (cm) on the grid. Next, I will instruct the students to place their airplane on the grid and calculate the surface area based upon the proportional measurement. For homework, begin writing your reflection paper on the paper airplane project.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, I will review the students work on the measurements they took for the surface area. For homework, continue working on your reflection. Your reflection needs to be printed.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will have a pre-flight testing in the Gym of the planes; any adjustment to your plane must be completed by Wednesday night. For homework, continue working on your reflection paper.

Thursday: On Thursday, if the weather is suitable, the students will fly their planes to see whose plane went the furthest. First place gets 20 extra points, second place gets 10 points, and third place gets five points. For homework, work on your reflection paper.

Friday: On Friday, the class will review drawing to scale, surface area, and what they learned from the project. There is no homework.

Sixth Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will be working on writing expressions. For homework do problems nine and 10 on page 264.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will continue working on writing expressions. For homework do problems 22-29 on page 266

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will work on word problems and expressions. For homework do problems 35 and 36 on page 267.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will work on page 268 covering word problems and expressions. For homework do problems 43-45 on page 268.

Friday: On Friday, we will start the topic evaluating expressions. There is no homework. There will be a test on expressions on Monday February 11^{th}.

Fifth Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will begin working on the topic of Sequence. For homework do problems four-six on page 561.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will continue working on sequence problems. For homework do problems five-seven on page 563.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will finish the topic of sequence. For homework do problems five and six on page 564. On Thursday there will be a religion test on the vocabulary words that were assigned last week.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will begin the topic of problems solving. For homework do problems five and six on page 568.

Friday: On Friday, we will continue working on problems solving on pages 569-570. There is no homework.

Eighth Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will be working on graphing reflections on pages 237 and 288. For homework create your own reflections on the provided graph paper.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will be working on pages 289 and 290. For homework do problem 11 on page 290.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will begin working on the topic Properties of Rotations on page 292. For homework complete page 292. There will be a quiz on Reflections and Translations on Friday. Review your notes for homework as well.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will be working on pages 294 and 295. On Friday there will be a test on Translations and Reflections. There is no homework.

Friday: On Friday there will be a quiz on Reflections and Translations.

Seventh Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will review Scale drawing and we will review the project. For homework review what type of plane you want to create. Review on YouTube how to create a paper airplane. We will begin on Tuesday drawing your first scale modeling.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will start drawing your first scale model. You will have to decide on Tuesday whether you will be using the measurements, (CM, Inches, CM to Inches, or Inches to CM for your scale model for homework.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will continue working on the project. For homework, finish your first scale model.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will begin turning your drawing into an airplane. There is no homework.

Friday: Friday, we will begin the topic of surface area. We will use the topic to measure the surface area of your plane beginning next week. There is no homework.

Sixth Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will continue working on Independent and Dependent variables. For homework do problems three and four on page 342.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will be working on page 343 and 344, For homework complete page 344.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will be working on writing equations based upon a table. For homework complete page 349.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will finish the chapter on page 360. There is no homework.

Friday: On Friday we will begin Algebraic Relationship in Tables and Graphs. There is no homework.

Fifth Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will begin working on Line Graphs. For homework finish page 553.

Tuesday: On Tuesday we will continue working on Line Graphs. For homework complete page 556.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will be working on Numerical Patterns. For homework do problems seven-nine on page 562.

Wednesday: On Wednesday in Religion there will be a test.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will continue working on Numerical Patterns. For homework do problems one and two on page 567. There is no homework.

Friday: On Friday, we will take a test on numerical patterns. There is no homework.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will begin Transformations. Transformation move an object without changing the congruence of the shape, as it is moved to the new coordinates. For homework do problems (H and I) on page 280 and problems two and three on page 281.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will continue working on Transformations. For homework to problems nine and ten on page 283.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will finish Transformations on page 284. For homework, study for a quiz on Friday regarding Transformations.

Friday: On Friday, there will be a quiz on Transformations. There is no homework.

Seventh Grade:

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will continue working on the project on page 240. For homework do problems 10 A and B on page 241.

Wednesday: On Wednesday we will be working on pages 242 and 242-B. For homework do problem 14 on page 242.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will be working on pages 242-A and 242 B. For homework do problems four A&B on page 242-B.

Friday: On Friday, we will be working on pages 242-C and 242-D. There is no homework.

Sixth Grade:

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will continue working on plotting sets on a coordinate plane on page 335. For homework do problem 19 A&B on page 336.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will be graphing rational numbers on page 336-A and page 336-B. For homework do problems seven –nine on page 336-B.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will be working on Independent and Dependent variables on a graph. For homework, review your notes on plotting both in your notebook and in your workbook for a test on Friday.

Friday: On Friday, there will be a test on graphing. There is no homework.

Fifth Grade:

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will be practicing and reviewing for teaching the fourth grade on Wednesday, how to graph. For homework review your teaching notes.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, the class will be teaching the fourth grade how to graph points on a coordinate plane. For homework, write at least one paragraph reviewing how your teaching to the class experience went; did your students learn from your lesson?

Thursday: On Thursday, we will review for a test on Friday regarding plotting on a coordinate graph. For homework, study your notes and review your textbook work on graphing.

Friday: On Friday, there will be a test on graphing. There is no homework.

Eighth Grade:

Monday: On Monday, the class will complete the math test. There is no homework.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will be working on the Substitution Method on page 235. For homework, complete problems one-three on page 236.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will continue working on the Substitution Method. I will assign three problems for homework.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will practice for the Math-Bee scheduled for January 24^{th} at 1:15. There is no homework.

Seventh Grade:

Monday: On Monday, there will be a test on circumference and area of a circle. There is no homework.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will start a project that will incorporate two chapters. The chapters include: Scale Drawings and Surface Area. For homework do problems four and five on page 239.

Wednesday: On Wednesday we will be working on page 240. For homework complete problems four and five on page 240.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will be working on practicing for the Math Bee on January 24^{th}. There is no homework.

Sixth Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will continue working on coordinate planes on page 331 and 332. For homework complete page 332.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will be working on word problems and coordinate planes on pages 333 and 334. For homework do problems three- nine on page 334.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will be working on page 335 regarding coordinate planes and word problems. For homework do problems 17-19 on page 336.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will practice for the Math- Bee on January 24^{th}. There is no homework.

Fifth Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will continue working on Coordinate planes. I will be given a handout from book two of Go-Math. For homework complete problems one and two on page 540.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will continue with coordinate planes. I will distribute another handout from book two of the Go Math series. Please complete problems 17-24 on page 541.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will begin working on another handout from the Go Math book two. For homework complete page 542 numbers 26-29.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will practice for the Math-Bee on January 24^{th}. There is no homework.
