For all grades the Terra Nova testing begins on Tuesday and will end on Friday. There will be no homework this week. If there is time for classes, the following topics will be covered:

Eighth Grade:

We will continue working toward the TACH Test. This week if possible, we will begin taking examples of prior tests.

Seventh Grade:

We will cover given the opportunity, writing mixed number into decimals.

Sixth Grade:

We will cover given time this week, equivalent fraction turned into decimals.

Fifth Grade:

We will cover given the time allowed, dividing with decimals.

Eighth Grade:

From Monday through Friday we will continue working on TACH topics. Homework will be assigned via handouts or problems assigned on the board. This will occur Monday through Thursday; there will be no homework on Friday. This week we will cover: Probability, Pythagorean Theory, Solving Inequalities, area, perimeter of rectangle, and area of a circle.

Monday: On Monday, we work on a handout on Probability. For homework, finish the handout.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will work on Pythagorean Theory. For homework complete the handout.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will work on inequalities. For homework create five inequality problems and solve them.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will work on finding the area of a half of a circle, finding the area of rectangles within rectangles, finding the missing area of a triangle via algebra, and finding the area of a section of a circle. Homework will be to create one problem from each topic and solve them.

Friday: On Friday, we will start to work on previous examples of the TACH Test. There is no homework.

Seventh Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will be working on pages 63-65. For homework, do problems 29-31 on page 66.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will be working on pages 72 and 73. For homework complete page 73.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will cover pages 74 and 79. For homework complete page 79.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will be working on pages 80 and 81. For homework complete page 81.

Friday: On Friday, we will work on pages 82, 82B, 84, 85, and 86. There is no homework.

Sixth Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will review pages 39 and 40. For homework do page 41.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will cover pages 42 and 44. For homework do page 48.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will be working on pages 51 and 52. For homework complete page 53.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will work on pages 55 and 56. For homework finish page 56.

Friday: On Friday, we will work on pages 57, 58, and 62. There is no homework.

Fifth Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will work on pages 177, 179, and 183. For homework complete page 183.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will continue working on subtracting decimals on page 185 and 191. For homework do problems four – six on page 191.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will complete page 191 and work on page 193. For homework complete page 193.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will work on pages 196 and 197. For homework finish page 197.

Friday: On Friday, we will work on pages 199,202, and 203. There is no homework.

Eighth Grade:

From Monday through Friday we will continue working on TACH topics. Homework will be assigned via handouts or problems assigned on the board. This will occur Monday through Thursday; there will be no homework on Friday.

Monday: On Monday, we will work on Transversal’s.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will work on Complementary and Supplementary Angles with given degrees. The students will create both angles and place their work in some cases on the board.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will be covering adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing Polynomials.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will cover Absolute Value, Mean Median, Mode, and Range.

Friday: On Friday, we will begin solving for simple radicals.

Seventh Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will be working on pages 46 and 47 covering dividing with negatives. For homework finish page 47.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will be working on negative numbers and word problems on page 48. The students will also create their own problems and share their work on the board. For homework finish page 48.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will be working on expressions on page 51 and 52. For homework finish page 52.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will work on pages 53 and 54 that covers expressions. For homework do problems 27-29 on page 54.

Friday: On Friday there will be a test on multiplying and dividing positive and negative numbers.

Sixth Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will be working on factoring. Problems will be assigned for homework.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will continue working on factoring. For homework do problems 11-14 on page 35. The students will also create factoring problems and place their work on the board.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we continue working on GCF. For homework do problems 20-22.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will work on page 36. For homework do problems 32-34. There will be a quiz on Friday regarding factoring and GCF (Greatest Common Factor)

Friday: On Friday, there will be a quiz on factoring and the greatest common factor.

Fifth Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will continue working with PEMDAS. There will be problems assigned for homework.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, the students will create their own PEMDAS problems in class and place their work on the board. For homework, solve four problems from any other student, or from a combination of other students.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will be working on exponents. Five problems will be assigned for homework.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will review for a test on PEMDAS. For homework, review your notes in your notebook.

Friday: On Friday there will be a test on PEMDAS. There is no homework.

The Fifth grade test scheduled for this Friday regarding PEMDAS has been cancelled.
