### For the Week of 4/15/19

For the Week of April 15, 2019

Eighth Grade:

Monday: On Monday we will review finding the Distance of points with the Standard Form and using Pythagorean Theorem. For homework review your notes for the test on solving Pythagorean. The questions will include: Word problems, drawn triangles, and solving if the numbers provided constitutes a Right Triangle.

Tuesday: On Tuesday there will be a test based upon the Monday’s work and stated topics. For homework study your notes on how to find the distance of points using the two styles. The two styles are finding the point of distance with Pythagorean and using the standard form.

Wednesday: On Wednesday there will be a test on finding the point of distance. There is no homework.

Seventh Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will review for the test on Percent of Change. For homework the class will be assigned problems.

Tuesday: On Tuesday we will review the homework and the class will have a handout on percent of change. For homework review your notes on Percent of Change.

Wednesday: On Wednesday the class will take a test on the Percent of change. There is no homework.

Sixth Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will review the topic of finding the area of a Rhombus, Trapezoid, and a parallelogram. For homework the students are to finish the handout provided in class.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will review Monday’s handout and the students will complete a handout on the test topic. For homework, study for Wednesday’s test.

Wednesday: On Wednesday there will be a test on finding the area mentioned on Monday’s entry. There is no homework.

Fifth Grade:

Monday: On Monday we will review for a test on Wednesday. The topics are: Finding for the area, the perimeter, the missing degree, and stating the two types of triangles. For homework I will provide five triangle problems.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will review the homework and the students will be given five new problems to solve. For homework study your notes for the test on Wednesday.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, there will be a test on the topics stated under Monday’s entry. There is no homework.

Fifth Grade:

Wednesday: On Wednesday, there will be a Chapter 22-23 test in religion. The terms and page numbers have been provided to the students.

Eighth Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will continue working on Pythagorean Theorem. For homework do problems 16-17 on page 385.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will work on finding the distance between points on a coordinate plane using the Pythagorean Theorem. For homework do problems nine-12 on page 392.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will continue working on finding he distance on a coordinate plane and comparing this method with the formal method using: under the square root (x_{2}-x_{1})^{2} + (y_{2-}y_{1})^{2}. For homework complete page 393 and study for a test on all of the above on Thursday.

Thursday: On Thursday, there will be a test on Pythagorean Theorem. For homework study your notes and the reference in your workbook for the quiz on finding the distance on a coordinate plane.

Friday: On Friday, there will be a quiz on finding the distance on a coordinate plane.

Seventh Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will work on adding and subtracting negative numbers and I will provide a handout. There is a test on the same topic on Tuesday.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, there will be a test on adding and subtracting negative numbers. There is no homework.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, problems and conditions will be assigned in class regarding the percent of change. For homework complete the five percent problems assigned in class.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will review your problems you solved for homework and review for a test on Friday. For homework review your notes for the test on Friday for the percent of change.

Friday: On Friday we will finish the topic of finding the percent of change.. There is no homework.

Sixth Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will begin area and polygons. For homework do problems one –four on page 374.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will be working on parallelograms and trapezoids. For homework do problems 12-14 on page 375.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will finish trapezoids and begin how to find the area of triangles. For homework do problems six-nine on page 381.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will continue working on how to find the area of a triangle. For homework do problems 16 and 17 on page 382.

Thursday: On Thursday we will review trapezoids and triangle. There will be a test on Friday regarding the same topics. For homework I will assign a handout on the same topic. Please study your notes for the test.

Friday: On Friday, there will be a test on finding the area of trapezoids, parallelograms and triangles. There is no homework.

Fifth Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will begin quadrilaterals. For homework do problems four-seven on page 651.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will continue working on quadrilateral. For homework do problems seven- nine on page 653.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will begin the topic of three dimensional figures. For homework do problems 13-15 on page 657.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will review quadrilaterals for Fridays test. For homework study your notes and review your test book for the test on Friday.

Friday: On Friday there will be a test on quadrilaterals. There is no homework.

Eighth Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will review for the Sequence word problem test on Tuesday. For homework study your notes and prior handouts on sequence word problem.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, there will be part two of the sequence test. There is no homework.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will begin working on Pythagorean Theorem. For homework do problems nine and ten on page 379.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will continue working on Pythagorean. For homework do problems five-eight on page 385.

Friday: On Friday, we will finish working on Pythagorean on page 385. There is no homework.

Seventh and Sixth Grade:

Both grades will be working on the packets that are derived from the state site this week. As of this week, the seventh grade has completed three packets and is working on their fourth. The sixth grade has completed two packets and is working on their third. This site provides prior test that will reflect the tests in May. For homework for both classes please complete at ** least six problems**, past the page we finish on for that day. Every day allows for new topic to be discussed and analyzed whether a student is taking the test in May or not, the topics reviewed will appear either this, or next year on tests. The Math exam will be given on May first and second.

Fifth Grade:

Monday: On Monday, we will review for the measurement test on Tuesday. For homework review your measurement conversion tables.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, there will be a test on the following measurement topics: Tons and pounds, pints, quarts, and gallons, miles, yards, feet and inches. There is no homework.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will begin geometry and the different types of triangles. For homework do problems one-three on page 645.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will continue working on triangles. For homework do problems three-six on page 648.

Friday: On Friday, we will be working on pages 650 and 651. There is no homework.

For The Week of March 25, 2019

For All Grades: Second Trimester Awards will be held after mass on April fifth.

Eighth Grade:

The Eighth Grade Math Final will be held on May 23rd. I will provide a list of topics on the final.

Monday: On Monday, we will be working on Arithmetic Sequences. For homework I will assign problems from the handout.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will continue working on Arithmetic Sequences and I will again assign homework based upon what was not completed in class.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will be working on Sequences and word problems. For homework review your notes and any handouts. There will be a test on Thursday.

Thursday: On Thursday, there will be a test on Arithmetic Sequences. There is no homework.

Friday: On Friday, we will begin reviewing topics for the final. The first topic is Representing Proportion Relationships, chapter 3.1. There is no homework.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we will continue working on measurements. For homework do problems eight and nine on page 605.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we will be working on word problems and measurements. For homework do problems 15-18 on page 610.

Thursday: On Thursday, we will be using the student’s measurements skills to measure objects in the classroom and to make the appropriate conversions. For homework study the chapter on measurements including the measurements of the following: Distance, Liquids, and solid measurements.

Friday: On Friday, there will be a test as indicated on Thursday. There is no homework.
