**3rd Grade:**

__Math__

In Chapter 4, students will multiply twos, threes, fours, and fives, use the properties of multiplication, find missing factors, and solve multi-step problems.

__Science__

In Chapter 11, students will focus on the Properties of Matter. They will learn that matter has properties that can be observed, described, and measured. In lesson 1, students will measure the volume of a liquid, describe physical properties of matter, and explain why some objects float and others sink. In lesson 2, the students will identify properties of solids, liquids, and gases, and describe evaporation and condensation. In lesson 3, the students will make a mixture and a solution, describe several types of physical changes, and explain how a chemical change differs from a physical change.

Chapter 11 Vocabulary

The children will have a Vocabulary quiz on the following 12 words on Thursday, 9/21. We are making vocabulary index cards in class to help the children study. These types of quizzes will be made up of matching, multiple choice, true/false, or fill in the blank with a word box.
