2nd Grade: Week of 1/13-1/17

Week at a Glance:

ELA– a) Superkids: interactively understand how to use compound words, encode that when -c is followed by i,e,y, it sounds like -s and when -g is followed by i,e,y, it sounds like -j, match definitions to memory words, encode that when you sequence an event you use words such as first, next, then, after that, at last and encode that an abbreviation is a short way to writing a word. 

           b) Spelling: inn, warn, forest, bright, nibble, flour, pale, island, hour, chew

           c) Writing: Authors Purpose P.I.E- focusing on for persuade. 

Math– Chapter 4: Find sums of 4 2-digit numbers and review Chapter 4. 

Science– Chapter 2: Animals Grow and Change- Review and complete test 

S.S.- identify and describe the physical characteristics of various landforms and understand who MLK Jr. was and what he did. 

Religion- Chapter 12: to emphasize that Jesus wants us to forgive others, review and complete test. 

Tentative Homework:

Monday: 

Spelling: sentences #1-10

ELA: “Compound Words” worksheet

Math: “Find Sums for 4 Addends” worksheet

Science: Study. Test tomorrow 

Tuesday:

Spelling: ABC order

ELA: “Complete Sentences” worksheet

Math: start studying homework sheets, Lessons 4.1-4.12

*Math Ch. 4 test next Tuesday 

Wednesday:

Spelling: 3x each and study. Test tomorrow 

S.S.: “Identify Land and Water” worksheet

Math: study review packet

Religion: Study. Test tomorrow 

Thursday:
ELA: “Abbreviations” worksheet

Math: Study. Test Tuesday

Friday:

No School
